Rainy River Celebrating Pride Month

Pride month is being celebrated in the town of Rainy River.

Rainy River Pride, with its supporters, is hosting a number of events aimed at everyone of any age.

Co-planner Chelsea Greig says they felt it important to have the events in place.

“I know everyone has been kind of starved for things to do and we decided it was important to keep Pride month as June and have events that whole town could celebrate,” says Greig.

Some of the events encourage people to get active with a chance to win prizes .

There is also a virtual book club next week. They will be reading and reviewing the book The Wanderer. The Rainy River Public Library is making the book available for free to download.

There is also a Netflix Streaming Night featuring the movie The Prom starring Meryl Streep, James Corden and Nicole Kidman.

Greig says a couple of businesses are also helping out.

“We had Kenton Creation make earrings. The other business is Northwest Pine Designs and she created Rainy River Pride Stickers that we sold.”
