Instagram goes ‘down’ with random account suspensions

If you’re hoping to scroll through Instagram and see your account has been randomly suspended, it’s not just you.

Users are flooding social media with reports of a mysterious outage.

Their accounts are apparently being suspended without a reason.

Outage monitoring website, Down Detector, is reporting more than 1,200 issues across Canada and over 7,000 in the United States.

The hashtag #instagramdown is currently trending on Twitter.

Meta’s PR team for Instagram has issued a Tweet saying they’re looking into the issue.

“We’re aware that some of you are having issues accessing your Instagram account,” the Tweet says. “We’re looking into it and apologize for the inconvenience.”
