Outdoor learning area in Fort Frances to receive new features

An outdoor learning area in Fort Frances could have new facilities in the near future.

The Rainy River District School Board is eying improvements to its outdoor classroom located in the town’s east end.

The work includes upgrading access to the wooded area site.

The construction of a shelter with concrete tables, a circular seating area and fencing are also proposed.

The school board needs a minor variance to the land’s zoning before it can proceed.

The request goes before the town’s Committee of Adjustment later this month.
