COVID-19 Scare At Queen’s Park

There was no Education Minister or Premier at Wednesday’s media briefing at Queen’s Park.

That was because of a COVID-19 scare involving Stephen Lecce.

Minister of Training, College and Universities Ross Romano was called on to address the media after learning Lecce had come into contact with someone who tested positive for the virus.

“Our Premier is acting out of an extreme abundance of caution, and he wants to ensure that everyone on the premises here at Queen’s Park is safe. This is simply a measure that is being taken out of an abundance of caution,” Romano said.

Health Minister Christine Elliott was also missing from the briefing. All three have routinely spoken at media events and have had regular contact with each other throughout the pandemic.
