Fort Frances lost yesterday at the Ice For Kids Arena against the Dryden GM Ice Dogs.
The Ice Dogs downed the Lakers 3-2 in a shootout yesterday.
Lakers goalie Dean Buchholz was pulled for an extra attacker and Tyler Malpass banged one in at 18:48 to put the home side on the board.
Pulling their netminder once more, the Lakers were rewarded with the tying goal with 15 seconds remaining as Malpass bagged his second straight marker to send it to OT.
Nolan Marshall scored the only goal in the shootout, while Dryden’s Justin Pitari and Josh Weber found the back of the net in regulation.
In other SIJHL action, Cochenour’s Cody Bruchkowski scored his second goal of the game in overtime leading Thunder Bay to a 5-4 win in Spooner, Wisconsin.
