Many Canadians Leaving Christmas Shopping To The Last Minute

Just six shopping days left until Christmas. Have you started yet? If not, you are not alone.

According to a recent survey for Staples Canada, 60 per cent of the Canadians admit they dread holiday shopping.

Over 2,100 hundred Canadians were surveyed.

Sixty-four per cent find it to be stressful, with the issues being gift inspiration, concern over whether the person will like the gift or not, and the cost.

The stress is caused by factors including over-crowded malls, busy schedules and trying to figure out what to buy.

Almost half of Canadians say their busy schedules get in the way of shopping for their loved ones.

Fifty-three per cent of Canadians admit they often end up making holiday purchases at the last minute.

The most popular holiday gifts this year include entertainment, technology and electronics as well as toys.

More than half of Canadians also plan to purchase at least one educational-focused gift this year.
