Stuff A Cruiser Stuffs Area Food Banks

Food banks across much of the Rainy River district are full again.

Thanks to area residents support this weekend to the annual Stuff a Cruiser campaign.

They stuff police cruisers, ambulances and buses.

United Native Friendship Centre’s Sheila McMahon is very appreciative.

“It’s going to help us tremendously. It’s getting full and it was pretty empty before we started so,” says McMahon.

The drive also helped the Salvation Army in Fort Frances and food banks in Emo and Rainy River.

Food for the Community Christmas dinner was collected.

A team of volunteers fanned out in various locations to assist.

In total, the equivalent of eight ambulances and 13 OPP suburbans were filled with food during the drive in Fort Frances.

Fort Francis is amazing. The giving of food and gifts, the toy drives for the Friendship Center and for the Salvation Army. It’s just amazing.”
